These statistics about Catholic men, which were published in the January 18th edition of Our Sunday Visitor Newsweekly, should make us pause and think and hopefully move us to pray for our men.

  • Although men make up 49 percent of the of the U.S. population, they only make up 46 percent of the U.S. Catholic population.
  • Only 37 percent of regular Sunday Mass goers are men.
  • 8 out of 10 men agree that “how one lives is more important than being a Catholic.”
  • 4 in 10 men believe that Catholicism does not have a “greater share of truth than other religions.”
  • Only 38 percent of Catholic men strongly agree that they are “proud to be Catholic.”
